Welcome to Redwings’ Welfare HomepageEquine welfare is at the very heart of the Sanctuary’s work. Our dedicated welfare team helps to improve the quality of life of horses, ponies, donkeys and mules all over the country. Although more than 100 new residents are brought into the Sanctuary every year, we do not aim to rescue equines unless it is really necessary. Our team helps hundreds more equines by giving advice, support and encouragement to their owners and carers. In this area of the website you will find equine rescue stories, retirement advice, loaning guidance, information about welfare issues, downloadable versions of the Sanctuary’s welfare leaflets and details of how to contact the welfare team for advice or to discuss an equine you are concerned about. Redwings is a member of the National Equine Welfare Council and is currently represented on the Council's Management Board.
